Enjoying a “Rockin’ ‘50s” theme, employees celebrating years of service milestones at Cary Medical Center were recently recognized with certificates and gifts, at the hospital’s Annual Employee Recognition Banquet held at the Caribou Inn and Convention Center.
Over 100 employees and guests attended the evening event to celebrating a combined 1,470 years of dedicated and compassionate service to Cary. Employees with 20 years or more of service were also invited to attend the dinner and festivities.
One employee, Cheryl Newbegin, honored for 50 years of dedication and service to the hospital was presented with a monetary award and other gifts, and congratulatory letters from Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe, as well as Congressman Mike Michaud. A legislative sentiment in her honor was also read by Reps. Peter Edgecomb and Bernard Ayotte.
Lynn James, a Cary Medical Center R.N. who provides contract services to DFAS was recognized by the Department of Defense for her longevity to the federal government with 15 years of dedicated service to the Department of Defense at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service in Limestone. James was not present when the DFAS awards were presented earlier this year. Presenting her award was Cindy Blanchette, R.N.C., DFAS federal nurse coordinator and a 25-year Cary employee.
