joins Thompson Hamel, LLC
PRESQUE ISLE — Officials with the Presque Isle-based financial services firm of Thompson-Hamel, LLC have announced the addition of Bryan Thompson as the newest associate to its team.
Bryan Thompson 
joins Thompson-Hamel after serving in various management capacities at the Defense Finance & Accounting Service Center in Limestone over the last 10 years, the most recent of which was as the branch chief — accounts payable. Thompson graduated with dual bachelor’s degrees in accounting and business management and information systems from the University of Maine at Presque Isle in 2003, and earned his master’s of business administration degree from Husson University in 2011.
He currently serves in an elected capacity as a city councilor for the city of Caribou, and was recognized by UMPI with its Young Alumni Award in 2007. In addition to his work at Thompson-Hamel, LLC, Thompson recently accepted a position with UMPI as a full-time associate professor of business management and will begin his duties at the university this fall. He and his wife, Melissa, reside in Caribou with their three children, Sydney, Landon and Reed.
Upon joining the firm, Thompson will be preparing for his licensing exams to secure the designation of general securities representative by passing the rigorous Series 7 exam, and as a life and health producer by passing the State of Maine’s licensing exam. Once these license designations have been achieved, it will allow him the ability to offer clients a full array of services including life, long-term disability and long-term care insurance policies, and mutual funds, stocks, bonds, annuities and other investment products.
