Rotary Club approves new funding request
PRESQUE ISLE — As part of its mission of “Service Above Self,” the Presque Isle Rotary Club supports many local charities, non-profits and other organizations in their efforts to serve the greater community.
During its June meeting, the club’s board of directors approved one new funding request. The club agreed to donate $250 as requested by the Presque Isle Police Department to support its fund-raising efforts for the Special Olympics Maine Annual Torch Run.
The board also reviewed thank-you letters that it received from the Rotary Club of Dupont Circle, co-founded by former Presque Isle Rotarian Matthew Tremblay, Presque Isle Middle School and the American Legion Dirigo Boys State for donations made to those organizations.
