High school fall sports to begin

Houlton mandatory meeting
Soccer, football teams to start season
    Houlton High School’s athletic department has announced that a mandatory athlete/parent meeting will be held Thursday, Aug. 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.
    Also, the fall sports season gets under way, as the Houlton varsity girls soccer team will host Madawaska on Monday, Aug. 20. The junior varsity game begins at 4 p.m., followed by the varsity contest at 6 p.m.
    The Houlton junior varsity and varsity boys soccer teams open their season at Madawaska at 4 and 6 p.m.
    Houlton High School’s football team will play its first contest Monday in Ellsworth at 5 p.m.
