New teachers, website at GHCA

Greater Houlton Christian Academy (GHCA) has announced the appointment of Talitha Grant as its new spanish teacher. Grant and her family have relocated to Woodstock, N.B. after serving in Bolivia with New Tribes Mission for 10 years, where she was able to put her bachelor’s degree in intercultural ministries to good use. She brings a depth of Spanish language and culture that will serve GHCA students well. The Grant family are members of the Jacksontown Baptist Church in New Brunswick.
The school is also announcing the appointment of Connie Kelley of Littleton as its new grades 2-3 teacher. Kelley, who received her BS in elementary education from the University of Maine-Farmington, has served as Title 1 teacher at two other schools giving her excellent experience in helping students develop their literacy and math skills. She and her family attend United Baptist Church of Littleton.
In other GHCA news, the academy has launched an updated website.
“We are pleased to provide a website that is user-friendly and easy to navigate,” explained John Bishop, head of school. “We recognize that our website serves as our ‘front door’ and this redesign will help the community and prospective families to more easily find the information they are seeking. We have some final tweaking to do on certain pages, but we invite the community to check it out now at www.ghca.com. ”
An updated website is part of a broader technology plan.
“Technology upgrades are a priority for GHCA beginning with a comprehensive needs assessment that was completed this spring,” said Bishop. “We are making good progress on that plan. Much credit and thanks goes to IT professionals that also happen to be parents with children attending GHCA.”
