Alumni/community XC race
Caribou High School will host the ninth annual Alumni/Community Cross Country Race on Friday, Aug. 17 at 8 p.m. on the CHS trails. Registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. The race is 2.75 miles in length and is for people of all ages.
Categories include 50 and over, eighth grade and under, and one for high school and elite runners. Participants can race as an individual or as part of a team. Teams can have up to five people, but must have at least three to score and can be men’s, women’s, or mixed.
There is no entry fee for the race. Runners start in various groups according the their age category, each group starting one minute apart, so everyone has a fair chance of winning. Scoring will be by place, not time, and winners will get alumni race T-shirts. For more information, email Roy Alden at ralden@rsu39.org.
Alumni soccer game
A Caribou boys varsity soccer alumni game will be played at CHS Tuesday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m.
All former boys soccer players from Caribou High School are invited to attend.
Limestone Project Grad to hold golf tournament
Limestone Project Graduation 2013 is holding a golf scramble at Limestone Country Club Saturday, Aug. 18, with a rain date of Sunday, Aug. 19.
The entry fee is $60 per team for the two-person event, with mulligan and string included. Registration will be held at 7:30 a.m. and there will be a 9 a.m. shotgun start. Every golfer will receive a prize.

Limestone rec soccer sign-up
The Limestone Recreation Department has begun registration for three levels of youth soccer.
Pee wee soccer, for grades Pre-K through 2, will be held Wednesdays and Fridays at 5 p.m. at the Albert E. Michaud Park pee wee field. Mini soccer, for grades 3 and 4, also takes place Wednesdays and Fridays and is held at the Michaud Park mini field.
Travel soccer for grades 5 and 6 will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 5 p.m., also at Michaud Park. Round robin tournaments will be held Saturdays throughout the fall.
The season begins the final week of August. Registration takes place at the recreation office. Call 325-4791 for more information.
KeyBank charity golf tourney is Saturday
The sixth annual KeyBank Charity Golf Event will take place Saturday, Aug. 18 at Presque Isle Country Club.
Proceeds will benefit several area charitable organizations and projects, including animal shelters, school projects, Presque Isle Youth Hockey, the Susan G. Komen Foundation, the United Way of Aroostook and Women, Work and Community.
A barbecue lunch for all participants is being provided, courtesy of Star City IGA.
The shotgun start is at 9 a.m., with registration beginning at 8 a.m. There is no minimum handicap for the three-person teams. The registration fee is $120 per team.

Cornerstone golf tourney
Cornerstone Christian Academy’s sixth annual golf tournament will be held Saturday, Aug. 25 at Caribou Country Club.
Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. and a shotgun start will be held at 8:30 a.m. The format is a three-person scramble and the fee is $120 per team or $40 for individuals.
Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three gross and net teams. Longest drive and closest to pin competitions will be held and four hole-in-one prizes will be up for grabs. The top prize will be $15,000 cash.
