A Fresh Paint Event and Auction” was held Saturday.

Twelve artists set up around the Star City and created original pieces that were auctioned off later that night with proceeds benefiting the Aroostook Partners in the Arts, an organization whose mission is to bring more art enrichment to area schools. Here, Kirsten Arndt, originally from Presque Isle and now residing in Sabattus, puts the finishing touches on a watercolor painting she did of her father, Ken, fly fishing in the Aroostook River. This was Arndt’s fourth time participating in the event. Organizers say nearly $3,200 was raised for the Aroostook Partners in the Arts. A story and more photos on the fundraiser will appear in a future issue of The Star-Herald.
