Rotary Club OK’s five funding requests
PRESQUE ISLE — As part of its mission of “Service Above Self,” the Presque Isle Rotary Club supports many local charities, non-profits and other organizations in its effort to serve the greater community.
During the July meeting, the Presque Isle Rotary Club’s board of directors approved five new funding requests. The club donated:
• $100 to support the Fort Fairfield Travel Draw, the Fort Fairfield Rotary Club’s largest fund-raising event.
• $125 to support the KeyBank Charity Golf event held in August, which benefited several area organizations including Aroostook House of Comfort, C.A.N.C.E.R., Junior Achievement of Maine, Project Graduation Class of 2013 at SAD 1 and 32, area youth athletic programs, area animal shelters throughout Aroostook County, United Way of Aroostook, and Women, Work and Community.
• $250 to support the MMG Charity Golf Tournament being held Sept. 8, which benefits the United Way of Aroostook.
• $100 requested by the Limestone Rotary Club to help establish a town clock.
• $250 requested by the Northern Maine Fair Association to support the Lil’ Farmers at the Fair exhibit.
