PRESQUE ISLE — LiveWell United, located at 15 North St., provides a wide range of healthful services designed to help clients live a healthy life, using exercise, nutrition and therapeutic techniques.
A BRIGHT WINDOW painting, created by Shelby Wilcox of Presque Isle, adorns the front windows of LiveWell United, located at 15 North Street in Presque Isle. LiveWell United offers a variety of instruction on ways to live a healthy lifestyle, from Zumba classes and massage therapy to yoga and nutrition. A soft opening is scheduled for Saturday, September 1.

Co-owned by Stephanie Caverhill and Renee Chalou-Ennis, the business will hold a soft opening on Saturday, Sept. 1, with a grand planned later.
“We’ll be offering classes both day and evening. A complete list can be found online at livewellunited.com,” said Chalou-Ennis. “Saturday we’ll be holding demonstrations. The public is welcome to come in and check us out.”
Chalou-Ennis said the first official day of business will be Monday, Sept. 3.
“We’ll be open Labor Day. With many people having the day off, this provides an opportunity for folks who aren’t working to take a class or two,” she said.
Chalou-Ennis is a certified Zumba fitness instructor, certified pilate instructor through The Physical Mind and a certified group fitness instructor through the American Sports and Fitness Association. She’s spent the past four years developing and nurturing her passion for fitness.
Caverhill is a licensed massage therapist. A graduate of the New Hampshire Institute of Therapeutic Art in 2001, she’s been practicing massage therapy for 11 years and opened her own office with Northern Physical Therapy about eight years ago. She has also traveled extensively with various athletic teams, including the U.S. Paralympic Nordic-Biathlon Team and serves on the U.S. Olympic Committee, working as a therapeutic massage therapist. She is also a certified Zumba fitness instructor, an avid road cyclist and fitness enthusiast.
“We will offer sessions in the following categories: pilates, cardio kickboxing, yoga, child yoga, gymnastics, massage, life coaching, Reiki therapy, nutrition consultations and meditation,” said Chalou-Ennis.
“We’ll offer other classes and services as time goes on,” said Caverhill.
Chalou-Ennis said their goal is “to help people become healthier and happier by guiding them towards attainable, sustainable healthy lifestyles.”
To do so, the business has teamed with a local hospital.
“We’re affiliated with The Aroostook Medical Center. We’ll be their wellness entity in the community,” said Caverhill, noting that was one of the reasons they selected the North Street location, because of its proximity to TAMC’s Health Center.
“Our facility on North Street is for everyone — women, children and even men,” said Caverhill.
The pair met about three years ago during a Zumba class.
“Zumba is kind of the gateway drug to fitness,” quipped Chalou-Ennis. “That’s what inspired us to do all this. It started with Zumba.”
Chalou-Ennis said they also have started a private women’s fitness group on Facebook, which now has about 600 members.
“We wanted to create a site where women could open up and discuss health concerns and share information,” she said.
“We’re trying to get the whole community healthy. Mom is the central unit in most families. If we can get the mothers more active, living healthier, they’ll take that experience home and share with loved ones,” said Caverhill.
Caverhill said combining so many services under one roof will make it easier for clients, regardless of age or gender.
“The idea of putting all these services together is a matter of convenience. All our services are for individuals 13 years of age and up, except the child yoga and gymnastics classes,” Caverhill said.
Chalou-Ennis said they hope to serve the needs of folks not just from Presque Isle but from throughout Aroostook County.
“We encourage people from all over to come see what we have to offer. We also encourage people from all towns to start something in their own community,” said Chalou-Ennis.
LiveWell’s North Street location provides a studio atmosphere, with brightly-colored walls and areas that can be easily partitioned, depending on what activities are scheduled.
“Instead of walls, the area will be divided by curtains, so we can adjust according to class size,” said Caverhill. “We do a lot of Zumba fundraisers, so we can accommodate more this way.”
In back, there are private rooms for massage therapy, Reiki sessions and office space.
Chalou-Ennis will be instructing Zumba fitness and pilates, while Caverhill will offer Zumba fitness and massage therapy. Other instructors include: Julie French, yoga and children’s yoga; Diana Higgins, massage; Linda Rowe, yoga; Katie Buob, cardio kickboxing and nutrition; Julie Daigle, cardio kickboxing; Lacey Sawyer, life coaching; Stacey Frost, life coaching; Sue Sturtevant, Reiki; and Josh Barnes, gymnastics.
Business hours will be scheduled around classes. For a full list of offerings, visit livewellunited.com.
