CELEBRATES OPEN HOUSE — The St. Apollonia Dental Clinic, which officially saw its first patients March 30, held an open house last Thursday to showcase the new facility. Located at 122 Academy St. in Presque Isle, the clinic’s mission is to serve the dental needs of children (ages 0-20) who do not currently have a dentist. Pictured are, from left: Dr. Norma Desjardins, clinic director; Dr. Keely O’Connell, dentist; Rose Marie Louten, clinic board secretary; and Carolyn Kimball, board chair. More than 500 patients have either been seen or have an appointment scheduled. The clinic, which is open from 7:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, is still accepting new patients. For more information, call 554-5045.

GIVING TREE — As a way of thanking the many individuals, businesses and private foundations that have donated to the St. Apollonia Dental Clinic, this decorative tree adorns a wall in the waiting room of the facility, which is located at 122 Academy St. in Presque Isle. A gift of $250 or more earns a hand (leaf) on the tree. The tree presently features about 65 hands and more spaces are available.
