The Insurance Association of Greater Houlton, local affiliate of the International Association of Insurance Professionals, held their monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 11.
It was held in Sherman and John Birmingham of American Heroes Racing, was their guest speaker.
He spoke about the work the program does for soldiers in active duty now, those who no longer serve and the families of lost soldiers. The focus of American Heroes is to create awareness and support for our soldiers and their families.
They do tribute races where the hood of the car is painted in memory of a soldier and donated to the soldier’s family. The members wish to thank John for his time and efforts in this endeavor.
The group also started gearing up for their new fiscal year, as September’s meeting was the first of the 2012-2013 term.
Lots of community service and educational opportunities are being looked into. Membership is open to anyone in an insurance related field or college students considering work in insurance.
