To the editor:
On Aug. 26, I had a medical emergency while at a wrecker call. Since then, it has been a bumpy ride for all of us. That ride would have been a lot worse if not for the support we received from everyone in these communities.
Thank you, Patten Ambulance, Life Flight, Houlton Regional Hospital and especially all of Eastern Maine Medical Center’s employees. I have never been treated as professionally and with as much caring as I was in both the ICCU and on Floor 3.
So, if you stopped by to check on us, or sent a card, or passed us money to live on, or called to say you were thinking of us, or attended the fund-raising meals, or however you showed us that you cared, we really don’t know how we can thank you all. Or repay all the nice things you have said and done, or all the prayers that went out for us.
May God bless all of you, and thank God that we are from a small community where people still love and care for their friends and neighbors.
