To the editor:
I would like to thank Chuck Loucka for the outstanding concert he gave at the Houlton Community Arts Center on Saturday, Oct. 6. This concert was to benefit the Houlton Humane Society.
If you were unable to have been in the audience, I want you to know that you missed an afternoon of outstanding music, equal to any that is put on at the Performing Center for the Arts in Orono.
Chuck Loucka is a trained classical pianist hiding up here in northern Maine. This is the third concert he has done to benefit the animal shelter, taking no pay for all the hours of practice he puts in before the performance. Chuck doesn’t just get on stage and play, he performs with extraordinary talent and passion, unlike anyone you have ever heard! He puts his heart and soul into each piece of music he plays.
Those of us in the audience were in listening delight with a wide variety of music from Root Beer Rag by Billy Joel, to Canon in D Major by Johann Pachelbel, to “William Tell” Overture Finale by Gioachino Rossini. There was music to soothe your soul and music to tap your feet to and we enjoyed it all!
Thank you, Chuck, for all the time, effort and hard hours of practice … you are appreciated!
