CARIBOU, Maine — The sixth-grade teachers, Mr. Pelletier, Mrs. Bouchard, Ms. Lajoie and Mrs. Heidorn, have chosen Austin LaPlante and Mackenzie Guerrette as the September Students of the Month.
LaPlante is a Boy Scout and truly exemplifies everything that a Boy Scout is. He is very organized and punctual in his work. He is a great friend to all of his peers, as there is never an unkind word out of this young man. He has a wonderful sense of humor and wit that his teachers enjoy. LaPlante is very involved in the music program here at CMS with Mr. McLaughlin and Mrs. King.
Guerrette has been enrolled in the local school system for a very short period of time and has made that transition seamlessly. She has a wonderful personality, which allows her to make friends very easily. Her teachers say that whenever called upon, she is willing to assist them. Guerrette is also a member of the school chorus along with being a participant on the local recreation department tennis team.
The Caribou Middle School grade-seven teaching team has selected Abby Parks and Noah Heidorn as September Students of the Month.
Parks’ cheerful personality makes her a well-respected friend and student. As a student, she balances her academics with her extracurricular activities with ease. She is an active learner, a keen thinker and a positive role model for others. Parks is very deserving of this recognition.
Heidorn has demonstrated early in the school year that he is a solid school citizen. As a student, he takes great pride in his schoolwork and always puts forth a high level of effort. He is an active member in many of CMS’s extra and co-curricular activities such as band and soccer. Heidorn is a positive role model for others.
The grade-eight team has chosen Kaitlyn Nadeau as their Student of the Month for September. She was chosen because of her willingness to help others, and her ability to set an example for all who attend CMS. Nadeau, in her years at Caribou Middle School, has been involved in band, jazz band, basketball and AYBL. She is always willing to help a fellow classmate or teacher often without being asked. She is a wonderful role model to all students and sets a great example regarding schoolwork and the treatment of fellow classmates, schoolmates, teachers and adults.
Dominick Judd has been selected as the eighth-grade Student of the Month for September. Judd was chosen because of his positive attitude toward schoolwork, classes, teachers and classmates. He is currently on the soccer team and plans on trying out for basketball and track this year. He loves to run and be outdoors, but also enjoys reading when he has a good book. Judd is a great example for all at Caribou Middle School with his fabulous work ethic and treatment of others. He is a true role model.
