MERRILL — A Presque Isle man is facing multiple charges following an accident in Merrill.

“On Nov. 22, Troopers Carman Lilley and Jill Monahan responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 212 in Merrill. A 2011 Nissan car had lost control, going off the road and striking some trees,” said Sgt. Brian Harris, Maine State Police.

When troopers arrived, they discovered the operator had fled the scene on foot.

“Trooper Chad Fuller responded to the scene and conducted a track with his K-9, Glenni. After a short distance, the operator, identified as Wayne Boulier, Jr., 32, of Presque Isle, came out of the woods,” said Harris.

“Boulier was arrested for operating after suspension, violation of conditions of release, driving to endanger and criminal mischief,” said Harris.

Boulier was transported to Houlton Regional Hospital for treatment of minor injuries from the crash and then brought to the Aroostook County Jail.

The car sustained significant damage in the crash and was towed from the scene.
