    PRESQUE ISLE – Jeannette M. Johnston, 87, passed away Sunday night, Dec. 2, 2012, at the Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill. She was born on Feb. 1, 1925, in St. Anne, N.B., Canada, the daughter of Clovis and Eugenie (Dumais) Ruest. Jeannette and her husband, Leland co-owned Johnston’s Nationwide Grocery in Easton from 1960-1973.
    She was predeceased by her husband, Leland in 1973.
    She is survived by two sons and their wives: Darrell L. and Martha Johnston of South Portland, Brent B. and Roxie Johnston of Gorham; two daughters and their husbands: Iola and William Page of Easton, Brenda and William Whitmore of Biddeford; seven grandchildren: Mark and MaryAnn Page of Scarborough, Kelly and Trent Lundeen of Mars Hill, Andrew and Meghan Johnston of Wakefield, MA, Katherine Johnston and fiancé, Spencer Murch of Old Orchard Beach, Elizabeth Johnston of Gorham, Krystal (Whitmore) and Matt Taschereau, Arundel, Eric and Jessica Whitmore, New Haven, CT; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers and their wives, Ronald and Brenda Ruest of Caribou, Roger and Rena Ruest of Avoca, NY; two sisters, Cecile Ruest of Caribou and Simone Whitehouse of Oldsmar, FL; several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services was held at 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with Rev. Raymond Morency officiating. Friends called from noon until time of service at the funeral home.
