PT LeRoy HerseyAmerican Flag Color    OAKFIELD – LeRoy Hersey, 81, died December 16 in Bangor. He was born July 10, 1931 in Oakfield, the son of Wilbur and Katherine (Sanders) Hersey.
    He was a veteran of the US Army, serving during the Korean war in the 47th Division as a platoon leader and received the Purple Heart. He was retired from the B & A Railroad as an engineer.
    He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Donna (Boutilier) Hersey of Oakfield; five sons, Keith and Brenda Hersey, Glenn and Nancy, Larry and Anna, all of Oakfield, Wendell and Patty of Houlton and Travis and Amanda of Burke, VA; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Albert and wife, Leah Hersey of Oakfield; many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and six siblings.
    Friends may call 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, December 20 at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water Street, Houlton where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday with the Rev.
