    BLAINE – Gary H. Pierce, 62, passed away February 7, 2013, at The Aroostook Health Center in Mars Hill. He was born in Presque Isle on June 28, 1950, the son of Wendell and B. Marie (Sylvester) Pierce.
    Gary’s true passion was developing the family business; Bigrock ski area in Mars Hill. He spent countless hours on the mountain working to ensure that it was meticulously prepared for family enjoyment. He had a zest for life, was known for being the life of the party, and will be fondly remembered by his many friends.
    He is survived by his parents of Blaine; a son, Jonathan Pierce and his wife, Darica of Mount Holly, VT; a daughter, Erin Pierce of Presque Isle; three sisters, Sue Dearborn and her husband, Dwayne of Virginia Beach, VA, Joy Towle and her husband, Earl of Fryeburg, Gayle Pierce of Anchorage, Alaska; a granddaughter, Hailey Pierce; and his former wife, Kristi Pierce of Somerville, MA.
    He was predeceased by an infant sister, Mary Ann.
    Friends called on Tuesday, February 12, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Duncan Funeral Home, 8 Main Street, Mars Hill, where a Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Lawrence Beals officiating. Spring interment will be at Kings Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill.
