MARTIN, Marion C., 93, ASHLAND, at Presque Isle, March 28, 2013. A funeral service will be held at the Advent Christian Church, Ashland, at 1 p.m., on Sat., April 6. Arrangements are in the care of Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, Ashland.

    ASHLAND – Marion C. Martin, 93, died March 28, 2013, at a Presque Isle hospital. She was born in Ashland, December 2, 1919, the daughter of Clinton and Catherine (Skinner) Sylvester.
    Mrs. Martin was employed as a cafeteria cook in the Ashland schools for many years. She was very involved in her church as deaconess and Sunday School teacher, and as past president and vice-president of the Mission Society of the Ashland Advent Christian Church. She was currently a resident of Northwoods Manor, an assisted living facility in Ashland, having the distinction of being its first resident when it opened nine years ago.
    Mrs. Martin is survived by three sons, Harold “Peter” Martin of Portage Lake, Harry Martin of Levant, and Don Martin of Long Island, NY; one daughter, Laura Mega of Kittery; one sister, Luona Rand of Dowling Park, FL; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
    She was predeceased by her husband, Harry Martin and by one son, Guy Martin.
    Relatives and friends may call at the Advent Christian Church, 42 Exchange St., Ashland, from 6 to 8 p.m., on Friday, April 5. A funeral service will be held at the church at 1 p.m., on Sat., April 6, with Pastor William Harris officiating. Interment will be in the Ashland Municipal Cemetery later this spring.
