WOODLAND — Woodland Consolidated School held its 2013 graduation ceremony in the school’s gymnasium on June 10 where 11 eighth-graders were promoted to high school freshmen.
The ceremony began
with the processional performed by the School Union 122 Concert Band. Graduate Meghan Cole welcomed family and friends to the ceremony.

The class history was read by graduate Jacob Driscoll and class prophesy was read by graduates Dianna Poulin and Megan Thornton.
Principal Susie Schloeman presented Simone Michaud with the Outstanding Achievement in Science Award, Jacob Driscoll with the Outstanding Achievement in Math Award, Dianna Poulin with the Outstanding Achievement in Social Studies Award and Meghan Cole with the Outstanding Achievement in Language Arts Award.
Michaud was also the recipient of the Secretary of State’s Eighth Grade Citizenship Award, which recognizes Maine students for their civic awareness, scholastic achievements and community service.
Schloeman presented the award to Michaud, saying the eighth-grader was deserving of the honor for her work with numerous community-based organizations such as the Caribou Fire Station’s Toy Project, the Bread of Life soup kitchen, Relay for Life, Aroostook Teen Leadership and church groups.
Graduates Carson Doody and Nathan Godin then read the class will, and Schloeman returned to the stage with School Committee Chairman Cindy Noyes to hand out diplomas to each of the students.
The farewell address was delivered by Michaud, who thanked the school’s faculty and the community for their help and support during the graduating class of 2013’s years at Woodland School.
