Mapleton Oil Company recently became part of the community of Fort Fairfield with the opening of its new gas station Fort Fairfield 24Hr Gas, an unmanned station open 24 hours per day.

The dispenser at the station not only accepts credit and debit cards, it also accepts cash. A discount for using cash is given at the pump. Mapleton Oil Co. is entering its 10th year of business and owners Dale and Tim Wood were looking to expand from delivering fuel oil, diesel fuels and propane. The next logical choice for them was retail gas sales. Attending the Aug. 5 ribbon-cutting ceremony were, from left, front row: Andrew Wood, Kellie Wood, Lucas Wood, Carlee Wood and Megan Wood.
