Panhandling in PI

Hungry! Need help! Anything will help! are quotes on the panhandler sign.
Aroostook County folk are kind, hard-working people that are willing to help others, but please don’t be tricked into giving money for food.
In Presque Isle there is a soup kitchen on 21 Parsons Street. Martha and Mary’s kitchen serves a nice hot meal and even one to go if needed.
There are resources in Presque Isle to help, so don’t be deceived or feel sorry for the guy that’s begging for food or money. Just remind them to go to Martha and Mary’s and we will fill their belly.
