Christmas bazaar a success

    The EPCO (Easton Parent Community Organization) held a Christmas Bazaar Thursday, Dec. 12 for Easton Elementary students to purchase gift items for family members at the bargain price of $1 each.

The group wishes to thank all the community/parent volunteers and the “elves” from EHS who helped.

United Baptist Church Christmas Eve service

    The United Baptist Church will be having a Christmas Eve candlelight service at 6 p.m. All are welcome to join us in celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ.

Bottle drive

    The Class of 2014 Project Graduation will be having a bottle drive in Easton Saturday, Jan. 4. Members of this group will be collecting around Easton or returnables can be dropped off at Easton High School from 10 a.m.-noon. Please save your recyclables for this worthwhile cause!

Upcoming Rec events

    Adult Christmas Breakfast — Christmas Breakfast at 9:30 a.m. in the Recreation Room at the manor. Please bring a small wrapped gift for a Yankee swap and we will have holiday music with a concert pianist! Free to anyone who wants to attend.
    Christmas Gift Making — For the last several years, the children have been making gifts for the special people in their lives (parents, teacher, siblings, grandparents, etc.) and bringing them home wrapped and ready to go under the tree. This year we will be running the program again. Children must be signed up in advance and will be assigned a date to attend. Please note children only come to one of the three dates; at that time they will make all their gift(s). This program is limited to the first 36 participants. There is no fee, but parents will be asked to help with supplies. To register, you must call or e-mail Hillary at your earliest convenience. Your child will be assigned one of the following dates: Dec. 18 or 19. This program will take place at the hall until 4:30 p.m. (please notice the change in time from regular programs)!
    Little Bears Basketball — The Easton Recreation Department is currently take registrations for first and second grade and third and fourth grade basketball and cheerleading to start in early January. Please contact the recreation department at recreation@eastonme.com.

Vacation week field trips

    Monday, Dec. 23 — The Maine Jump. We will head out after school dismissal (early-release day) with lots of jumping, climbing and loads of fun! The cost is $6. Concessions will be available for an additional fee. Please send a note to school allowing your child to attend. Participants should be picked up at the hall at 2:30 p.m.
    Thursday, Dec. 26 — Swimming and McDonalds. The cost is $2.75 (exact change please) and lunch money. Please be sure your child has a swimsuit & towel. The activity is from 11:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m.
    Monday, Dec. 30 — Roller-skating. We will head to Caribou for skating at Melody Roller Rink. The cost is $5 for skating and rentals. Please be sure your child knows his/her shoe size and is wearing socks. Concessions will be available for purchase. The activity is from 9:40 a.m.-1:10 p.m.

    Wednesday, Dec. 18 — Junior Activities from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Hall. Christmas Gift Making — Group A after school until 4:30 p.m. Must be pre-registered for this event.
    Thursday, Dec. 19 — Adult luncheon at Dodge’s home starting at 11:15 a.m. Please let Hillary know if you need transportation. Christmas Gift Making — Group B after school until 4:30 p.m. Must be pre-registered for this event.
    Friday, Dec. 20 — Junior Activities at the Hall from 9:30-11 a.m. Adult program with Aroostook Area Agency on Aging at the Manor starting at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served following the program, free of charge.

    Tuesday, Dec. 24  — Town Office closes at noon.
    Wednesday, Dec. 25 — No recreation activities and Town Office will be closed.
