CARIBOU, Maine — Officials at Caribou Middle School recently announced the selection of six Students of the Month for December.
The sixth-grade teachers have chosen Taylor Paddleford and Benoit Levesque for the honor.
Paddleford is noted to be an extremely kind person, who gets along with her peers and is helpful to her teachers. She is involved in the music program by participating in chorus, and also represents her homeroom as a student organization representative.
Academically, her teachers indicated, she does outstanding work in her classes and always tries to improve.
Levesque is a student who is described as friendly, outgoing and very polite to both adults and peers. He always puts his best efforts into his studies, and continually strives for improvement. He is involved in both band and chorus, and has also played on the CMS soccer and basketball teams. He has a strong desire for all students to be treated with dignity and respect, and will not hesitate to speak up if he sees another child being bullied or teased.
Teachers said he is a pleasure to have in class, and sets an inspiring example of positive school citizenship.
The seventh-grade teachers have chosen Austin LaPlante and Abby Espling as Students of the Month. In describing LaPlante, teachers cited him as a hardworking student who can make the best out of any situation. He always has a positive attitude and works his hardest to be successful in anything that comes his way. He is an active member of Caribou Middle School, where he participates in the band, student organization, ski team, and the gifted and talented program.
He is “a very kind young man and can be seen around the classroom helping others,” said his instructors. A problem-solver, he seems to think outside the box, which helps him be a role model for his peers.
Espling is said to be a solid student, described by her teachers as “nice and tremendously kind to everyone at Caribou Middle School.” She is a great school citizen and role model, said officials, and a pleasure to be around each and every day. She is said to treat everyone with respect and patience. An honor roll student, Espling is active in various activities, is on the middle school basketball team and is an active member of the Girl Scouts.
The grade 8 teachers have selected Camryn Langille and Adrieanna Damboise as their Students of the Month.
Langille was chosen because of her positive attitude toward schoolwork, classes, teachers and classmates. She is a very active leader at CMS, serving as the school’s student organization president. She also was a member of the soccer team this past fall, and is involved in the gifted and talented program as well as the school’s strings program. Outside of school, she participates in the Maine Dance Academy and also helps coach the English Soccer Academy.
Her teachers selected her for this monthly recognition, school leadership said, “because she is a great example for all at Caribou Middle School with her fabulous work ethic, and her treatment of others makes her a true role model.”
Adrieanna Damboise has been chosen because of the conscientious and impressive work ethic she demonstrates towards her schoolwork. She is respected by her peers and staff because of the respect and kindness she demonstrates each and every day. Besides being a great student and role model in the classroom, Damboise is also very involved in other activities at school. She is a member of the cheering and track teams, and also participates in the chorus and show choir.
Her teachers said, “Adrieanna’s kindness, helpfulness, self-motivation, respect for others, and well mannered attitude are all qualities that make her a great role model and excellent choice as a CMS Student of the Month representative.”
