HOULTON, Maine — Have you ever wondered what it was like to be a police officer? If so, the Houlton Police Department wants you to sign up for its 6th annual Citizens Police Academy. Starting Thursday, March 13, classes will meet on Thursday for 10 consecutive evenings at the Houlton Police Department, 97 Military St., from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
“This is a great opportunity to visit and learn about the Houlton Police Department,” said Houlton Police Chief Butch Asselin. “Training sessions and lectures will focus on the various aspects of law enforcement with emphasis on the duties and responsibilities of your local police department.”
The public is highly encouraged to attend. The academy is free and open to all Houlton residents and persons employed in Houlton that are 18 years of age or older.
