Eleven girls to compete for crowns at pageant Saturday

    Presque Isle High School’s Class of 2015 is once again sponsoring this year’s Mapleton Pageant. There will be one pageant for all five divisions this Saturday, April 5 at 2 p.m. at the high school’s auditorium. 

    General admission tickets are $7 each and can be purchased from any contestant or at the door. Visiting queens will be entered at no charge.

    Four girls are vying for the title of Little Miss, one for Pre-Teen, two for Junior Miss, two for Teen Miss and two for Miss. Scholarships will be awarded to each of the two Miss contestants. Please come and support the contestants and the Class of 2015!

    Birthday wishes this week go out to Dan Charette, Tim Graham, Peter Brown, Sue Wilcox, Chad Carlin, Jesse Parker, Benjamin Currier, Taylor Stephenson, Reno Boucher Sr., Simeon MacFarline, Lucas Richards and Zack Powers.

    Happy anniversary this week to Eric and Linda Rodd on April 8.

Church luncheon

    The Mapleton Methodist Church will sponsor its monthly luncheon this Friday, April 4 at 11:30 a.m. The kitchen crew will be preparing an Easter meal. Everyone is invited.

Thank you

    Members of the Mapleton Methodist Church would like to thank those who attended the fund-raiser spaghetti supper March 22. A total of $334.45 was raised for the Aroostook County Chapter of the American Red Cross.

Fund-raising event

    The Mapleton Daze Committee is hosting a fund-raising event this Saturday, April 5. It will begin with a spaghetti supper at the Lions Hall from 4:30-6:30 p.m. The menu will include spaghetti with (or without) Frank Richards’ “famous spaghetti sauce,” tossed salad, biscuits and gingerbread for dessert. Tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for children 12 and under. These prices include the Easter egg scramble that will begin at 6:30 p.m. Those wishing to attend just the egg scramble can do so for a charge of $2 per child. This event is open to children 12 and under. There will also be a mini petting zoo for the children to enjoy. Come and support the Mapleton Daze Committee as they raise funds for their upcoming festivities.

Chicken pie supper

    The Mapleton United Methodist Women will be hosting a chicken pie supper Saturday, April 5 at the church from 5-6:30 p.m. The meal will include assorted homemade pies for dessert. All proceeds will benefit scholarships for local graduating seniors. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. Musical entertainment with Wendell Hudson will follow the meal at 6:30 p.m.
