The Katahdin Valley all-stars have split in the District 3 double elimination 11-12-year-old Little League baseball tournament.

In their second game in Holbrook, Katahdin Valley took a 9-1 five-inning loss after the game was called due to rain. They were scheduled to play Orono/Veazie yesterday in the elimination game. If Katahdin Valley wins, they face either Bangor East or Old Town.
In their opening game last Tuesday, the Katahdin Valley all-stars overtook host Millinocket 8-3 at Kedderis Field.
Katahdin held a 4-3 lead after the first three innings before pulling away. Katahdin Valley racked up four more runs over the last three innings, while holding Millinocket scoreless.
Bradley Hotham one-hit Millinocket through five and a third innings, while striking out 11. He was relieved by closers Blake Howes and Logan Swallow, who also gave up only one hit.
Howes singled twice for Katahdin Valley, while Gavin Vining smacked a triple.
