HAMMOND, Maine — Hammond is without a town manager and its chairman of the board of selectmen following the resignations of Diane and Glen Hines.

Diane Hines has served as the town’s part-time manager since 2006, while Glen Hines has been a selectman for numerous years. Diane Hines declined to go into specifics Tuesday on why she resigned from the position, only stating, “It was a matter of principle for me. It was time to move on.”
Two new selectmen — Walter Metherell and Matthew McAfee — were recently elected to the board, replacing Stephanie Lively and Robert Luhrs. A special selectmens’ meeting was scheduled for Tuesday evening.
