    LIMESTONE & FORT LAUDERDALE, FL. – Jay Franklin Litz passed away unexpectedly July 13, 2014. Jay’s unique personality touched not only his family, friends, coworkers, colleagues, and students, but all those who knew him or met him. His legacy of nurturing was commendable and remarkable.
    Jay left behind his wife of thirty-six years, Deborah Morse Litz, and two children, daughter Jillian Karen Litz, 28, and son Richard Litz, 14.
    Jay was known for deepened knowledge, wisdom, kindness, laughter, sense of humor and quick witticism. His unwavering dedication to his family was absolutely amazing. He was known for always lending a hand, guiding, mentoring and going above and beyond whatever was expected. Jay was our “Superman.”
    Jay graduated from Limestone Community School in 1969, and University of Maine at Orono in 1973. Jay was a dedicated teacher at Fort Lauderdale High School for 18 years and voted teacher of the year in 2009-2010.
    He is the son of James Litz of Homer, NY, and mother, Therese Castonguay Litz of  Van Buren, ME. They eventually moved to Orlando, then Oviedo, FL.
    He was predeceased by his mother and father, and brother-in-law Richard Morse, Jr.
    He is survived by his brothers, Andy Litz, John Litz (Denise), and Aaron Litz (Shannon); nieces, Janelle Litz Musselman (Jake) and Brenna Litz Bell (Darren); sister, Anne Litz White; and niece, Katie White. He is also survived by the Morse family, including his mother-in-law, Priscilla Dale Morse, father-in-law, Richard Edward Morse, Sr., and sisters-in-law Jeannine LaRonde, Pamela Morse, Karen Blackmon, and Diane Morse; along with many other beloved nieces and nephews.
