Does Rep. Saucier represent constituents?

Voters should know who it really is that they are voting for, including how a person stands on the actual issues. Project Vote Smart is a completely nonpartisan group which keeps track of where politicians stand. Its founders include Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford, George McGovern and Michael Dukakis.
In 2012, legislative candidate Robert Saucier refused to fill out their Political Courage Test (asking him to state where he stands on the issues). But in 2014, Project Vote Smart’s website has a wealth of information showing that he is extremely liberal, far more so than almost all Presque Isle residents. He is scored 100 percent by Maine’s three major unions, meaning he never goes against them even on common sense measures. He is scored 17 percent on abortion, meaning he is about as extreme as it gets on that issue. He has the second highest ranking of all legislators north of Bangor given by the most extreme left-wing special interest group in Maine — the Maine’s People Alliance. He has the second-lowest ranking of all legislators north of Bangor given by the Defense of Liberty PAC.
Instead of just focusing on finding common sense solutions for the many pressing problems facing us right here in Maine, he felt it necessary to co-sponsor a bill that told the U.S. Congress that it needs to give amnesty to illegal aliens. Is that what the people of Presque Isle wanted Saucier to do in Augusta?
I’m sure that he’s a good person, as his campaign signs point out. But he’s not a good politician. I am confident that his opponent, Larry Fox, will be more moderate and represent the people of Presque Isle much better.
