Zorro, an adult neutered male domestic shorthair cat currently residing at a Halfway Home Pet Rescue Foster Home, is apparently a lost cat and volunteers are anxious to find the owners. He appears to have been well fed in the past and is very loving and friendly. Zorro was rescued after wandering for several days on Route 161 near the Caribou Country Club. If this is your cat, please call 999-1075 and be prepared to offer ownership proof such as photos and vet records to the HHPR volunteers. Please note that even at this early stage of a northern winter, Zorro has already suffered frostbite to his right ear. This is a painful issue and will cause that section of the ear to fall off. If not claimed, Zorro will be ready for adoption soon and his adoption fee will be $50.
HHPR is very grateful for the recent PAWS for a CAUSE food drive recently completed by area hospitals, TAMC and Cary Medical Center, as well as County Federal Credit Union. This will give HHPR a fine start on the winter expenses. The Second Chance Thrift Store is having a half-price sale on several tables of household goods and a generous bag sale on new and gently used clothing. We are open Thursday through Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. unless a winter storm situation.
