WILTON, ME – Patricia Ryle Lawrence, 59, formerly of Braintree, VT, died Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Menig Extended Care in Randolph, VT. She was born October 18, 1955, in St. Albans, ME, the daughter of Ryle and Rachel (Audy) Dow.
Pat was raised in St. Albans and attended the University of Vermont where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy. She was married to Douglas Lawrence in Swanton in 1978. The Lawrence’s had lived in Presque Isle, ME, Mendon, VT, Randolph Center and Braintree, VT, before moving to Wilton, ME. Pat had worked at A.R. Gould Hospital in Presque Isle, ME, Washington (VT) County Visiting Nurses and had been a physical therapist at Gifford Medical Center for 29 years before working at Franklin Memorial Hospital in Farmington, ME.
Her memberships included St. John’s Episcopal Church, Paulette’s Punchettes rug hooking group and ADPi Sorority.
She enjoyed sewing, camping, kayaking and loon watching and was a certified punch needle hooking instructor.
She is survived by her husband, Douglas Lawrence of Wilton, ME; a daughter, Liz Lawrence of S. Burlington; five sisters, Cindy Martell of Georgia, VT, Debbie Britton of Wilkesboro, NC, Kareen Wortman of MA, Christine Anderson of Louisville, KY, and Alita Phelps of NH; two brothers, Galen Dow of Georgia, VT, and Richard Dow of W. Rutland.
Memorial services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 17, at St. John’s Episcopal Church with Rev. Susan Taylor officiating. There were no calling hours.
