Peanut carnival Thursday
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department’s annual Peanut Carnival will be held Thursday, April 23 at the William Haskell Community Center on Main Street.
Youth will have an opportunity to play games and win enough coins for a prize bag. The event runs from 1:30-3 p.m. and at the end a drawing for a bike will take place.
No actual peanuts are used during the event, which is open to youth in grades K to six.
Dodgeball tourney Friday
Balls will be flying all over the William Haskell Community Center gym Friday as teams from all over the County will be participating in a dodgeball tournament.
The double-elimination tourney begins at 10 a.m. with two divisions of play — grades 3-5 and 6-8. Presque Isle area youth wishing to play should show up by 9:45 a.m. to be placed on a team.
Mother-Son Dance May 8
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department’s Mother-Son Dance will be Friday, May 8 from 7-9 p.m. and this year it has a sports theme.
Instead of dressing up in a suit and tie, you can dress in your favorite sports team T-shirt, sweatshirt or jersey or even your favorite rec team shirt. Mothers are encouraged to do the same.
This event will cost $7 a couple and an additional $5 for a picture. The event is for boys in grades K-6.
