Former County man faces child abuse charges

By CBS 13

A former Stockholm man was arrested Saturday in Florence, Ala., on two counts of sexually abusing a child under the age of 12, according to media reports.

Daryl V. Raymond Jr, 48, was arrested Saturday after reports alleging he abused two children at a traveling petting zoo in Florence.

Raymond, who is an employee of Jungle Safari, is being held in the Lauderdale County Detention Center on $100,000 bail, according to The Associated Press.

The owner of the traveling petting zoo, Robert Engesser, says as soon as he was approached by one of the alleged victim’s grandmother Friday, he called police.

The zoo reportedly shut down and left Florence.
