The Community Celebrations Calendar is currently being finalized. If you would like your family’s birthdates, anniversaries, etc. included, please order as soon as possible.

This year, the calendar will feature children and adult recreation activity photos and community landscape photographs. For more information, email recreation@eastonme.com. Copies may be available without pre-ordering but cannot be guaranteed. The cost is $10.

Upcoming community library hours

The library will be open to the community for patrons to utilize library services — book loans, use of periodicals and reference materials, Internet and computer access. Patrons may bring their own devices to access the Internet and will be asked to follow existing library rules/guidelines.

The Easton Junior/Senior High School Library will be open from 3-5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 9. The high school library will be open from 9:30-noon on Saturday, Nov. 12, with story time from 10-10:30 a.m.

John Cancelarich to speak at library

John Cancelarich, the former director of operations and chief chemist at Maine Sugar, will be at the Easton Community Library (Easton Junior/Senior High School) on Saturday, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. Learn everything you always wanted to know about Maine Sugar but were afraid or unable to ask. Please use the rear entrance to the high school.

Happy Days Club update

The Happy Days Senior Citizens’ Club met for a potluck lunch on Oct. 27 with 10 members and one guest present. The club will not meet in November or December due to the holidays and other community activities.

The next meeting will be a potluck lunch at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2017 in the recreation room at the Manor. They will be nominating/electing officers for 2017. Please plan to join us and bring a friend!
