LaPointe takes FF bank helm

FORT FAIRFIELD — Katahdin Trust officials announced on Jan. 11 the recent promotion of Yancy J. P. LaPointe to branch manager and retail services officer in Fort Fairfield.

His new responsibilities include the day-to-day management of activities at the Fort Fairfield branch, sales and business development, and retail lending.
“I am pleased to announce Yancy’s hard-earned promotion,” said Bonnie Foster, Katahdin Trust senior vice president, retail services. “He has demonstrated tremendous leadership and banking expertise over his 11 years with the bank. A Presque Isle native, Yancy J. P. LaPointe has been with Katahdin Trust since 2005, where he started his banking career as a part-time teller at the Presque Isle branch. He became a full-time teller in 2006 and a retail services assistant shortly thereafter. In 2014, he was promoted to retail services assistant supervisor.
LaPointe is a graduate of Presque Isle High School and the Northern New England School of Banking in Durham, N.H., as well as the Young Professionals Institute in Presque Isle. He has also earned several banking diplomas and certificates from the Center for Financial Training Education Alliance.
Active in his community, he currently serves as president of the Fort Fairfield Chamber of Commerce and treasurer of several Aroostook County chapters of the Salvation Army of Northern New England. He is also a volunteer with Junior Achievement of Maine, Friends Helping Friends Food Pantry and his church. He is also the past Ceremonies Chair for the World Cup Biathlon.
He resides in Fort Fairfield.
