Motorcyclists from Houlton, Fort Fairfield involved in Kennebunk crash

Two motorcyclists from Aroostook County were injured and hospitalized in a traffic crash in Kennebunk over the weekend, according to the Kennebunk Police Department.

Kenneth Tracy, 45, of Fort Fairfield, and Francis Bartley, 52, of Houlton, were involved in a multi-vehicle crash in Kennebunk Saturday afternoon May 20, and both are currently at Maine Medical Center in Portland, the Kennebunk Police Department said.

According to the initial police investigation, a car travelling west on Route 99 hit the rear of another car that was slowing down for a turning vehicle, flipped onto its roof, and then struck the two motorcyclists, who were travelling east.

Bartley was taken by Lifeflight helicopter to Maine Medical Center, where he was in serious condition, according to the police.

Tracy was transported by ambulance to Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford and later transferred to Maine Medical Center, where he is in fair condition.

One driver from one of the cars involved also was taken to Southern Maine Health Care and was treated and released.
