CARIBOU, Maine — Champions were crowned in four divisions May 27 as the Aroostook League held its middle school tennis tournament at the Teague Park courts.

The host Caribou Vikings featured three of the overall winners and also logged three second-place performances. Van Buren had the other winner and a runner-up.

In girls’ singles, Livia Bouchard of the Vikings beat Scout Spencer, 8-3, for the title. In boys’ singles, Caribou’s Sawyer Deprey defeated Malachai Willey, 8-1, for the top spot.

The Vikes’ girls doubles combination of Edie Shea and Naomi Cote bested Van Buren’s Caroline Coats and Mallory Beaulieu, 8-2. The Crusaders’ doubles team of Brady LaPlante and Blake Martin scored an 8-5 victory over Caribou’s Nick Staples and Elliott Sleeper for the boys’ doubles crown.

Players from Presque Isle also competed in the tournament, which had to be moved from May 26 due to rain.
