LIMESTONE, Maine — The town of Limestone posted an ad for a new town manager in early July, seeking an individual with at least three years of management or supervisory experience along with a degree in public or business administration to take on the job.
Fred Ventresco, Limestone’s current town manager, has held the post since Jan. 5, 2015, and said the town is giving him a little time to decide where to go next, and that he “may or may not” submit a formal letter of resignation.
“I’m still here until they hire someone new,” Ventresco said on July 17.
As a result, Ventresco was unable to comment on when his last day would be, or where he plans on heading after leaving his position with the town.
“Right now I’m not going to comment on anything,” Ventresco said.
The public notice on the town’s website indicates that an incoming town manager also would be required to serve as road commissioner, welfare director, and treasurer in addition to preparing municipal budgets and being directly responsible for personnel, human resources, and public relations.
