HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton Community Farmers’ Market is preparing to celebrate Maine Farmers’ Market Snapshot Week on Saturday, Aug. 12.

Snapshot Week, developed by the Maine Federation of Farmers’ Markets (MFFM), is a statewide effort to celebrate peak season during  National Farmers’ Market Week (Aug. 6-12) and to capture a “snapshot” of  a week in the life of Maine’s farmers’ markets.

Snapshot Week in Houlton will include many kids’ activities, including an inner tidal pool touch tank, coloring pages, making a healthy snack mix with Heather McGuire,  stickers, tattoos and more.

This week, and every other that the market is open, shoppers using their SNAP/EBT card will receive “bonus” bucks for produce with the Maine Harvest Bucks operating at the market. There will also be a $1 raffle on two baskets filled with items like Common Ground Country Fair tickets and diverse goods from Houlton Community Market’s vendors.

Houlton’s Community Market runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
