A family on the Old East Limestone Road in Fort Fairfield lost their home to a fire Sunday night, according to town fire officials.

The fire started around 8 p.m. Sunday at the home of Douglas and Tracy Raymond and their son, according to Fort Fairfield Fire Chief Vince Baldwin.

The family and their dog emerged from the blaze unscathed, while their two cats are unaccounted for, according to Baldwin.

The home, at 132 Old East Limestone Road, was totally lost to the fire but was insured, the chief said.

About 25 firefighters responded to the scene from Fort Fairfield, Caribou and Limestone.

The Maine State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire, Baldwin said.

A disaster team from the American Red Cross of Maine is working with the family to provide food and shelter following the fire.
