The Fort Fairfield Housing Authority and the town of Fort Fairfield are hosting a ribbon cutting and tree lighting event at the community bandstand at 4 p.m. on Sun. Dec 3.

The gazebo-shaped bandstand, built in 2005 along Main Street, collapsed last January amid heavy accumulations of snow and ice early in the winter.

The town’s insurance covered most of the cost to rebuild the bandstand, according to town manager Jim Risner.

K-Pel Industrial Services constructed the bandstand, while Greenlaw Electric donated the materials and labor for electric work, Risner said.
