The Owls had a busy weekend of road games and won them all. They defeated Southern Maine Community College twice on Friday, Fisher College in a single game Saturday and Massachusetts Maritime Academy in a Sunday doubleheader.

Coach Sara Shaw’s UMPI squad is now 15-8. The team has won 12 of its last 15 contests.

The Owls outhit SMCC 15-2 in a 4-1 victory in Friday’s opener. Melanee Terry (four hits) and Jordi Legassie (three hits) combined to go 7 for 7 and Marissa Reagle homered and drove in three runs to support the pitching duo of Sara Packard and Brookelynn Garcia, who combined for 11 strikeouts.

In the second game, Garcia slammed a two-run homer and a two-run double and pitched the final 6-1/3 innings to earn the win in relief as UMPI won, 7-5.

Terry ripped a solo home run and Legassie and Delanie Strout contributed two hits each for the Owls.

UMPI went on to defeat Fisher College 12-3 and was ahead 7-2 in the second game before it was called off in the top of the fourth inning due to the weather.
