State police seek public input on Monticello burglaries

MONTICELLO, Maine — State police are asking residents for their help in identifying items believed to have been stolen from camp sites and residences in the Monticello area.

According to Sgt. Chad Fuller of the Maine State Police Troop F division, police have recovered several items they believe may have been stolen in connection with an ongoing investigation in the Conroy Lake area.

“Obviously, we cannot comment too much because it is still an active investigation,” Fuller said.

He declined to say specifically what items were recovered, as that might then make it difficult to find the rightful property owners, but did add that the items seized consisted of power tools and a large amount of metals.

Fuller said any residents who have camps in that area are asked to check their dwellings to see if they are missing any items. The stolen goods were just recently recovered, but believed to have been stolen sometime in late July.

Any individuals who are missing items may call the MSP barracks at 532-5400 and speak with Trooper Patrick Pescitelli.
