Winter Carnival will be held Friday, March 15, and Saturday, March 16. Events are as follows.

Friday, March 15 — Family fun night, 5-8 p.m., Easton Elementary School cafeteria and gym, with pizza party, face painting, bounce houses and door prizes. Pizza, chips and drinks will be served. Children should be accompanied by an adult. Donations appreciated.

Saturday, March 16 — Sliding party on Kinney Hill, Route 1A, 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Bring a sled and come dressed for outdoor fun. Children should be accompanied by an adult. Project Graduation will sell concessions.

Also on Saturday, the mother-daughter basketball game takes place at 3 p.m., and the father-son game at 4 p.m., in the Elementary School gym.

A benefit supper will be held for Galen Homes, 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the EES gym.

Happy Days Seniors

On March 14th, the Easton Happy Days Seniors will carpool from the West Ridge Manor to Pat’s Pizza in Presque Isle at 11 a.m. for lunch.  

A $12 stipend is given to Easton seniors.  Everyone is welcome to join us.

Snowshoe Hike

The Francis Malcolm Science Center will host an evening snowshoe hike starting on Saturday, March 16, from 5 to 6 p.m.  

They invite everyone to join them as they host their final snowshoe hike of the season, trekking through the magical woodlands across from the Center.  The price is $5 per person. Snowshoe rentals are available at $2/pair.

Upcoming bus trips

A bus trip is planned to PJ Mask Live at the Cross Center.  On Saturday, April 20,the bus will depart from Easton Recreation Department at 8 a.m. and will stop for lunch in Orono. The show is at 2 p.m.; all will have dinner before traveling home. T

Tickets are directly in front of the stage.

The cost is $50 for show, recreation time at Bangor Parks and Rec. and transportation. Participants are not required to ride the bus, but the fee will be the same with or without transportation.  Meal expenses will be on your own. Up to 65 tickets available.

Tickets must be paid in full by Friday, March 22, at 3 p.m.

The Easton Recreation Department is headed to The Traxxas Monster Truck Destruction Tour on Sunday, April 7, at the Cross Center in Bangor.  The bus will leave the Rec. Center at 8 a.m. and hopes to return around 8 p.m. 

The show time is 2 p.m., with pit passes good one hour  earlier.  The cost is $30 per person for ticket, pit pass and bus transportation to and from the event. Children must be in grade 7 and up to attend without an adult. Participants will be responsible for their own meals and souvenirs.

Those attending with Easton Rec will all receive a pit pass, which will allow us photo opportunities and to “touch the trucks” and see the rigs up close and personal.

Bone Builders Class

Bone Builders class will meet Mondays and Fridays starting at 9:45 in the Recreation Room at the Manor.  Bone Builders is a free strength training, balance and exercise program. To be successful, one should commit to attending twice a week for six months.  Each one-hour classes, held twice a week will increase muscle strength, balance and bone density. This program is offered through Area on Aging, Cary Medical Center & Easton Recreation Department.
