State police seeks help with Danforth burglaries

DANFORTH, Maine — Maine State Police Troop J in Washington County is seeking the public’s help with a burglary that occurred in Danforth.

According to Lt. Roderick Charette of Troop J, a burglar or burglars stole roughly $60,000 in items from a property on Springfield Road over the course of the past month.

Charette said Wednesday that troopers are investigating the burglary and are asking for assistance from the general public. Some of the items are unique, police said. Police said it likely took several trips to remove the items — ranging from farm tractors to automobiles — sometime between May 1 and 17.

Among other things, the following major items were stolen:a blue 1959 Willys Jeep; a John Deere 1530 farm tractor; a 1989 Polaris Indy 500 snowmobile; a 2018 Toro TimeCutter Zero Turn lawn mower; a John Deere model 145 riding lawn mower; a 1987 Suzuki 185 Quadrunner UTV; a 1987 Suzuki 125 Quadrunner; a Remington Model 522 Viper gun; and a 20-gauge single shotgun.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of these items or information on who may have taken them is asked to contact Maine State Police at 207-973-3700 and ask for Trooper Barnard or Trooper Lander.
