Police searching for Caribou man wanted for assault

CARIBOU, Maine — The Caribou Police Department is searching for Christopher Saunders, 31, of Caribou, who is wanted for “several charges including aggravated domestic assault,” according to a social media post.

As of Tuesday morning, police are still searching for Saunders, who is also wanted for domestic violence terrorizing, domestic violence criminal threatening, violation of a protection order, violation of conditional release, and tampering with a witness. According to Caribou police, he was out on bail for a domestic violence assault that occurred on Aug. 2.

Saunders has numerous convictions on his record, including a few recent OUIs and an aggravated assault conviction in 2013.

Police are asking members of the public who see Saunders to call 911 or the Caribou Police Department at 493-3301 immediately and to not approach him.
