The Bone Builders class will meet Mondays and Fridays starting at 9:45 a.m. in the recreation room at the Manor.

Bone Builders is a free strength training, balance and exercise program.  To be successful, one should commit to attending twice a week for six months.  The one-hour, twice-a-week classes aim to increase muscle strength, balance and bone density.

This program is offered through the Area Agency on Aging, Cary Medical Center and the Easton Recreation Department.

Science center show

The Francis Malcolm Science Center in Easton will open its 36th season with “Two Small Pieces of Glass” on Saturday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m.

The hourlong family digital program invites participants to learn how telescopes work, what they can see, and how professional astronomers rely upon them to explore and explain the wonders of the Universe. Weather permitting, a look at the night sky from the Science Center deck will follow. Bring your telescopes as well for a night to remember.

Admission is $5 per person. For reservations and further details, call the science center at 488-5451.
