PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — A Texas man was killed in a fatal car crash on Saturday night after failing to stop on the Craig Road in Presque Isle.

At 7:43 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, the public safety department received a report of a single vehicle crash near the intersection of Craig Road and Route 1.

The driver, 31-year-old Ryan Beseda of Eddy, Texas, reportedly was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, which police said caused fatal injuries.

Authorities said it appeared Beseda wasn’t familiar with the area, according to a press release from Presque Isle Police on Monday afternoon.

The investigation is ongoing but police said they don’t believe speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

The Presque Isle Police Department was assisted at the scene by the Presque Isle Fire and Ambulance Department along with Maine State Police.
