CASTLE HILL, Maine — A Castle Hill man was injured after his vehicle was involved in a crash Thursday evening, according to the Maine State Police.

John Hayes, 48, was eastbound in his 2008 Chevrolet HHR on Dudley Road in Castle Hill when he lost control of the vehicle due to a mechanical failure. The vehicle left the roadway, striking a ditch and overturning several times before stopping on its right side in an agricultural field.

Maine State Police Trooper Andrew Levesque responded to the call to the crash and was assisted at the scene by the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office, the Maine Warden Service and Presque Isle Fire and EMS.

Hayes was transported to Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital in Presque Isle with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
